The Executive Function Journal Companion Guide is a supplementary resource for parents, guardians, and instructors helping a child use the Executive Function Journal. Facilitating the use of the Executive Function Journal with this companion guide will maximize results by reducing user frustration and resistance, decreasing impulsive “I don’t know” reactions, and providing opportunities for meaningful discussions around the prompts. The guide provides prompts, cues, sentence starters, and alternative questions for all 90 prompts, to facilitate journal usage and reduce barriers. It also provides accommodations and instructions for helping a child with various learning disabilities use the journal successfully. While the journal is intended for continuous use (finish one; start another), you will only ever need one Companion Guide.
